Why Crosscheck?

Crosscheck Modular Consulting was created to help simplify one of the industry’s biggest challenges: permitting and compliance.

After years of working in modular construction and serving on national modular councils, Sam heard the same frustrations across Canada. Approvals taking too long, unclear requirements, and projects being delayed due to inconsistent interpretation of codes and standards. She saw a clear need for guidance, clarity, and stronger communication between all stakeholders.

● Our Story

Meet Samantha

A woman with glasses and curly hair sitting at a desk in an office, smiling at the camera.

Meet the founder of Crosscheck Modular Consulting. Sam’s experience coordinating building permits and completing quality assurance inspections in CAN/CSA A277-certified plants allows her to create practical solutions that work for the full team. This includes manufacturers, general contractors, design teams, and building officials. Her goal is to act as the liaison that keeps projects moving efficiently and collaboratively.

Sam has worked on modular projects in every province and territory across Canada and is a member of the Modular Building Institute’s Canadian Council, serving as Vice Chair of the Government Affairs Committee.

Proudly from Conception Bay South, Newfoundland, Sam’s passion for modular is deeply personal. Newfoundland has its own history of early modular construction, where thousands of homes were relocated across the province starting in the 1950s, proof that building smarter has always been part of the culture!

Today, Sam is proud to call both Newfoundland and Gravenhurst, Ontario home.

Beginning in the 1950’s, as fishing communities shut down and families were encouraged to relocate, Newfoundlanders didn’t simply tear down their homes and start over, they moved them! Entire houses were lifted, transported, and in many cases floated across bays to new communities. It’s estimated that nearly 30,000 homes have been relocated throughout Newfoundland since that time.

That history is one of the reasons modular construction has always felt close to Sam’s heart. It represents resilience, practicality, and the ability to build smarter, not harder.
